Susan's Lowcountry

Brian Hester

Brian Hester brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking, currently serving as a Commercial Relationship Manager with Potomac Bank in Charles Town, West Virginia. Throughout his career—including more than a decade with Truist (formerly BB&T)—he has built a reputation for relationship-driven service, thoughtful leadership, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

He holds an MBA from Shenandoah University and a B.A. in Accounting from Randolph-Macon College, and is a graduate of both the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management and the BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest University.

Brian’s dedication to service extends far beyond his profession. He has spent years investing in his community through leadership roles across education, nonprofit, and civic organizations, including the Frederick County School Board, Rotary Club of Winchester (President), Grafton Integrated Health Network (Treasurer and Board Member), Salvation Army of Winchester, Shenandoah University’s Business School Advisory Board, Braddock Street UMC Board of Trustees, and the Judges Athletic Association. He has also served in local government on the Winchester Board of Zoning Appeals (including as Chairman) and the Virginia Certified Board of Zoning Appeals. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival’s Gentleman’s Luncheon.

At the heart of Brian’s service is a deep belief in showing up for others—something that aligns closely with the mission of Susan’s Lowcountry Non-Profit. He is especially passionate about strengthening communities and ensuring individuals and families feel supported, connected, and valued.

A devoted father of three daughters, Brian’s greatest joy is time spent with his family. Whether he’s cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, watching them ride horses or dance, or simply being present in their everyday moments, his role as a dad is the one he values most. In his free time, he also enjoys golf and riding his motorcycle.
