Yes, we are an IRS-approved, tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization (EIN # 33-3723647).
Participants (seniors aged 65+ and verified veterans) are eligible for one fully funded trip sponsored by our external partners, supporters, and generous donors. Additional trip opportunities will always be available through separate bookings with our external partners at a significantly discounted rate.
Each free day trip includes transportation, a shared meal, and a thoughtfully planned group experience at a local destination. Participants enjoy light activities, conversation, and time to connect in a safe, welcoming environment.
From pickup to return, every detail is designed to ensure comfort, support, and meaningful moments of connection.
Our trip participants can be referred by family members, partner organizations (churches, senior centers, community orgs, etc.), or sign up themselves. Sign-up sheets are available through senior centers, churches, and community groups, and individuals may also register online using our electronic sign-up form. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those experiencing the greatest need.

Yes. Our trips are designed with accessibility in mind, including assisted boarding, support from volunteers, and a pace that respects varying mobility needs. We work to ensure each experience is safe, comfortable, and inclusive from pickup to return.
Yes! One family member or caregiver may join per participant, but they must register separately. Lunch is available at a discounted rate, and guests are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the designated pickup and drop-off location.
We prioritize safety through licensed transportation providers, trained volunteers, and thoughtful accessibility planning to ensure a comfortable experience for all participants.
Yes, participants, accompanying caregivers / family members and volunteers may be asked to sign simple waivers to ensure a safe and well-coordinated experience.
While we are not a medical provider, we strive to create a supportive environment and encourage participants or caregivers to share any important medical needs in advance. A first aid kit will be accessible on each tour bus, as well as at least one CPR-certified team member in case of an emergency.
*Trip takers may bring medications, oxygen delivery systems, mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.) as long as our team is notified in advance so that we may make pre-trip accommodations and to ensure safe transport and storage of these items (Susan’s Lowcountry is not responsible for any damage to these items during the trip).
