Free Day Trips!

Restoring connection through shared experiences and meaningful moments.

We provide free, accessible day trips for seniors and veterans across the Lowcountry, removing barriers like transportation, cost, and mobility limitations so they can reconnect with their community.
Each participant is eligible for one fully sponsored day trip, including transportation, activities, companionship, and a shared meal. This approach allows us to serve as many individuals as possible while creating interconnectedness, community, and shared experiences.
For those who wish to continue participating in similar outings, additional opportunities may be available through our external community partners at a reduced cost. Participation in any extended offerings is entirely optional and separate from our nonprofit programs.
For many participants, this is more than a day out. It’s a chance to laugh, share stories, build friendships, and feel like an integral part of something again.

What Makes Our Trips Different

Each trip is intentionally designed to prioritize:

  • Safe, supported group travel
  • Opportunities for conversation and connection
  • Welcoming, accessible environments
  • A place that respects comfort and mobility needs
From the moment participants are picked up to the moment they return home, every detail is centered around dignity, care, and connection.

Who These Trips Serve

We work directly with:

  • Senior centers
  • Assisted living communities
  • Church groups
  • Veteran organizations
  • Local nonprofit partners
Priority is given to seniors and veterans experiencing isolation, limited mobility, or a lack of consistent social connection.

How Participants Join Our Trips

We make participation simple and accessible for our partners.

  • We conduct outreach directly to community organizations
  • Partner sites receive sign-up sheets for interested participants
  • Trips are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority for those most in need
  • Our team coordinates all logistics, transportation, and planning
This allows our partners to easily connect their residents or members without added burden.

Types of Destinations

Trips are all local and designed with participant comfort and safety in mind.

  • Historic & Cultural Destinations: Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Church of the Cross (Bluffton), local landmarks, etc.
  • Community Experience Destinations: Farmers markets, seasonal festivals, local events; etc.
  • Scenic Outing Destinations: Waterfront parks, nature areas, accessible viewpoints, etc.
Each destination is selected based on accessibility and overall enjoyment.

Built for Comfort, Safety & Accessibility

Every trip includes:

  • Licensed, insured transportation providers
  • Volunteer support for boarding and mobility assistance
  • Space for wheelchairs, medications, medical equipment, and other mobility aids
  • Carefully planned schedules with rest breaks
  • Water, light snacks, and a provided meal
  • Participant waivers and safety protocols
Our goal is simple: every participant feels safe, supported, and cared for.

A Deeper Purpose Behind Every Trip

These trips are about more than transportation or destinations.

They create space for:

  • New friendships
  • Shared stories and laughter
  • Veteran recognition and connection
  • Moments that participants carry home with them
For someone who may not leave their home often, a single day like this can be life-changing.

The Difference We Make…

Through these experiences, we help:

  • Reduce isolation and loneliness
  • Restore a sense of purpose and joy
  • Strengthen community connection
  • Remind seniors and veterans they are valued and not alone
Through these trips, we help reduce isolation, restore joy and purpose, strengthen community bonds, and remind seniors and veterans that they are valued and not alone.

Connection Starts Here!

Be part of what makes these moments possible…

Every moment of belonging begins with someone choosing to care.
Across the Lowcountry, too many seniors and veterans are navigating life without consistent connection, support, or a sense of belonging. Through free day trips, shared meals, companionship, and community partnerships, we create opportunities for people to reconnect—with others, with their community, and with a renewed sense of purpose.
What may seem like a simple outing or conversation often becomes something far more meaningful: a new friendship, a restored sense of dignity, a reminder that they are not alone. But none of it happens without community support.
Every trip, every shared meal, every moment of connection is made possible by people who believe that no senior or veteran should ever feel forgotten. When you get involved, you help turn isolation into belonging and strengthen the fabric of our entire community in the process.

Because connection changes everything—and it starts with you.
