
Dan Childress is a seasoned Graphic Designer, Art Director, and creative communications professional with more than 30 years of experience in advertising, marketing, branding, and visual storytelling. A graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Dan has built a distinguished career helping organizations translate ideas into impactful visual experiences that connect with audiences and strengthen their brands.
Throughout his career, Dan has collaborated with advertising agencies, publications, print companies, corporations, freelance clients, and non-profit organizations to develop strategic creative solutions across a wide range of platforms, including print, outdoor advertising, digital media, and integrated marketing communications. His extensive experience in design strategy, brand development, and creative direction has allowed him to provide vital marketing assets and graphic design services to a variety of nonprofit organizations, helping them effectively communicate their missions, engage supporters, and expand their community impact.
Known for combining creative vision with strategic thinking, Dan brings a unique ability to understand organizational goals and transform complex messages into compelling, accessible, and meaningful visual communications. As an Advisory Council Board Member, he contributes decades of creative leadership, marketing expertise, and hands-on experience to support Susan’s Lowcountry Non-Profit enhance our outreach, strengthen our brand presence, and achieve our strategic brand awareness objectives.
Dan is deeply passionate about supporting nonprofit organizations, particularly those focused on improving senior well-being, advancing animal welfare, and serving vulnerable populations. He believes thoughtful storytelling and effective communication play a critical role in helping mission-driven organizations build awareness, inspire action, and create lasting change.
A lifelong Tennessee football supporter, Dan proudly cheers on the Tennessee Volunteers and enjoys spending his free time watching football, cooking, exploring nature in the mountains, and relaxing at the beach with friends and family. He currently resides in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with his beloved cat, Penny Lane.
