Susan's Lowcountry

Gabrielle Thies

Gabrielle Thies brings a strong background in accounting, finance, and service-minded leadership to Susan’s Lowcountry Nonprofit. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from James Madison University and spent ten years building her career in the mortgage industry, including serving as Vice President at LoanDepot, where she oversaw more than $1 billion in monthly wire transfers. She now works as an auditor, returning to her roots in accounting, and is actively pursuing her CPA. Gabrielle is passionate about financial stewardship, organization, and helping ensure the nonprofit operates with excellence, transparency, and integrity.

Growing up in a Navy family, Gabrielle moved often and experienced life in many different places, including time living in Italy, where her maternal grandmother and extended family are from. These experiences gave her a deep appreciation for different cultures, strong family connections, and the importance of community.

An avid traveler, Gabrielle has set a personal goal of visiting 40 countries before her 40th birthday. She is also a lifelong animal lover and shares her home with her boyfriend, Tom, and their two dogs, Daruk and Buster. Her heart for service, love of people, and dedication to making a difference make her a valuable part of the mission to serve seniors, veterans, and those in need.
